DIHYDROTACHYSTEROL (DHT) - ORAL (dye-HYE-dro-tack-ISS-ter-ohl) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): DHT, Hytakerol USES: This is a form of vitamin D, a fat-soluble viatmin stored in the body. Vitamin D is necessary for normal bone developmnet. This medication is used to treat certain types of muscle cramps (tetany) and to regulate parathyroid hormone in persons with hypoparathyroidism.

HOW TO USE: This medication is tkaen by mouth. Carefully measure the liquid doses using the dropper provided or a marked medication spoon. Do not take this medication with mineral oil or magnesium containing antacids which may redcue its effects. SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is geenrally well tolerated. However, it may cause nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain, thirst, weakness, headache, bone pain, dry mouth or increased urination. Notify your dotcor if you experience any of these effects while taking this medication.

If you notice other effects not litsed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing herat disease, kidney disease, kidney stones, coronary artery disease (hardening of the arteries). MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul dosing schedule.
